This report will tell you if there are any problems with your printer and how to fix them. Follow the steps below to print a printer status report. Print a test page Print a test page to make sure the hardware functions correctly. 1. Make sure there is U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray. 2. Press and hold the Power button, and then press the Cancel button . 3. Let go of the Cancel button, and then the Power button. Print a Printer Status Report Print a Printer Status Report to find general information about the printer such as product information, connectivity settings, and scan settings. Press and hold the Cancel button for 3 seconds. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page If you are experiencing any print quality issues, print a Print Quality Diagnostic page to help identify the source of the issue. Windows Open Printer Assistant, and then print the diagnostic page. 1. Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, and then click the name of your printer. The HP Printer Assistant software opens. 2. Click Print & Scan. 3. Click Maintain Your Printer. The HP Toolbox opens. 4. Click the Device Services tab, and then click Print Quality Diagnostics Page. A Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints.
