Niger Coup: Immigration, DSS, Army on Alert, As Deadline Ends

The whole world is practically on edge over the coup in the Republic of Niger. As the deadline for the coup leaders to restore democratic rule in the country as demanded by ECOWAS ended on Sunday, the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Department of State Services, DSS and the military have been put on red alert. Security on the Nigerian borders with Niger has been intensified, as immigration officials, DSS personnel and men of the Nigerian Customs Service have been mandated to stop Nigerien citizens from crossing over to Nigeria, through official and unofficial borders.
