Easter Rhythm Play Along for YOUNG Kids with Composition

Easter Rhythm Play Along for YOUNG Kids with Composition

Music teachers love this EASY Easter rhythm play along for young kids with composition activity! “I Love My Easter Shaker” by Lisa Gillam is an easy rhythm play along song for egg shakers with fun composition activity. There are no rhythms used in the video - only egg images to represent one or two shakes per beat making it perfect for prek and kindergarten students. Your youngest students will ask for this one again and again! Game Instructions: (1) Complete a simple craft activity by leading students in making their own egg shakers using fillable plastic Easter eggs from the dollar store. We like to use rice as egg filler! (2) If you are unable to complete the activity above, simply use regular egg shakers from your classroom instrument collection. (3) Invite students to compose a four-beat rhythm pattern using egg images similar to the ones seen in the video. (4) Play the video. (5) Lead students in playing the rhythm play along during the verses and then in playing the composed rhythm pattern (rhythm ostinato) twice during each instrumental break. (6) Repeat as many times as you like with a different rhythm ostinato composition each time! ------------------------ Check out this other fun egg shaker activity for Easter - “Shake My Easter Shaker”:    • EASY Easter Poem for Kids!   ---------------------------- Do you love this sweet Easter song?
