Poured Painting video 67 ~Sea Dreams~ Monochromatic flip cup by Maigan Lynn
Ok, I said videos every Thursday for a while but we're going to have to stretch this out for a bit - my apologies in advance! I am still an active channel I've just had to REALLY slow down in my work right now while my family transitions. Anyone who's familiar with the military, we just recently recieved our posting message. This message is the biggest indicator of where your life is going to run from for the next 2-4 years generally (sometimes more, sometimes less). My husband had his graduation ceremony and received his Pilots wing and the Monday morning following,his posting message was waiting in his inbox! lol! So we have less than two months to sell our current home and buy a new one in the new city -we can extend it by 30 days if we need to. Which means that I can't pour while our house is listed because it takes up space and too much time to dry. But I do have some videos to share with you so I'm going to try to post one every second Thursday. Hopefully this goes quickly for us and I can get back to work for a bit before we have to head out! I love the look of monochromatic pieces. Especially blues because, if done with the right colours, it can be very soothing. The sea and ocean are very appealing to me. As an illustrative artist, one of my favorite things to paint are mermaids. So any kind of ocean type pours give me a sense of calm and they feel like home. For this piece I used my Elmer’s glue-all mix pouring medium, 100% silicone oil in all colours except white, water, acrylic paint, torch, on an 10x10" canvas.
