President-elect Joe Biden promises to provide regular COVID-19 updates, will lead with science

On Friday (1/15), President-elect Biden outlined his plan to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to more Americans when he takes office. Highlights from the plan include encouraging states to allow more people in priority groups to be vaccinated; more vaccination sites especially in rural areas and communities of color; increasing the supply of vaccines through the Defense Production Act; and increasing the public health workforce to administer the vaccine. To combat vaccine hesitancy, there will be public education campaign to build trust in the vaccine’s safety.
