Centre gets a boost as 800 academicians back the new farm laws; writes a letter of support

Farmers' protest has been going on in the National Capital for over a month now and the stalemate has not ended after the 7th round of talks as well. However, the Centre today received a big boost as 800 academicians write a letter of support to the Centre, backing the three farm laws, stating that these laws will give full autonomy to the farmers. While the Centre has already made it clear that the laws will not be repealed, they agreed to bring in amendments. Out of the four demands put forth by the farmers, two demands have been agreed upon by the government. These academicians belong to all major universities and some of them are also from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
