South Korea has given the green light to three private charity groups to send humanitarian aid to North Korea this year. The Unification Ministry said Wednesday that it has approved a 400-thousand-dollar aid package for young children in the North,... consisting of bread, milk powder and clothes. The ministry said it is also reviewing measures to expand humanitarian assistance to the North by approving more aid efforts by civic groups. The move follows President Park Geun-hye's New Year's speech, in which she said she would bolster humanitarian assistance to North Korea.
