VI used within another VI is called as SubVI. First, create VI then create Icon and Connector Pane so that VI can be used as a SubVI. An icon is the graphical representation of the VI. It identifies the SubVI on the block diagram of the VI. Connector Pane is the set of terminals which connect the control and indicator of the VI.
