How To: Diamond Grind, Concrete Dye, and Urethane Seal Floors

A grind, dye, and seal is a quick and easy way to update an old slab. Previous damage and former floor coverings will affect the final result (dye is translucent), but changing the floor’s color is pretty easy to do. First to consider will be customer expectations. The process doesn’t promise perfection. It simply changes the slab’s color. Next will be the sealer type. Choosing this will be dependent upon the floor’s expected use, how shiny the customer wants their floor, and how bright the color will be. As for mastering the installation process, it just takes a little practice to become familiar with the products. The video starts with a floor that was previously polished. Using a rotary and 70 grit 10S diamonds, the floor is fully profiled. During this process it was necessary to use silica and water to keep the tools sharp. Once clean, a water based dye is used to color the floor. After the dye has dried, a coat of aliphatic urethane is applied by roller. 🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸 #ROTARYGRINDER #DECORATIVECONCRETE
