Despite the name, the decision at the end of the game isn't one between light or dark. More a choice between deciding what the choice is. It isn't good and bad or honor and evil. Is it a choice between glory and peace, or acceptance or denial? It ultimately won't matter, because the Dark will eventually claim everything. It is the nature of things, after all, that we destroy ourselves in the name of envy, greed or other trite emotions. And fires do not burn forever.
