Its been a slow year in the western sound, even the porgies are not nearly as thick as they usually are around here. The spring sand eel run definitely seems to have concentrated fish differently in the Sound and we just didnt see the same showing of species like bluefish and weakfish yet. My thinking on this morning was to find the clearest water possible since this was the day after some major wind and rain. Wind was still a little strong to be going too far off the beach so I stayed in 30' or less basically all morning and just kept hopping from boulder to boulder, trying to fish as many as possible.
