Falafel – middle eastern recipe that is made with chickpeas, herbs and spices. Ingredients for Falafel: 1 16 oz chickpeas can 1 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp corn starch 2 table all purpose flour 1 cup onions, diced Salt to taste 1 tbsp cumin powder 1 tsp ajwain seeds 5-6 garlic cloves 1 small ginger 3-4 thai chilis 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 cup cilantro and mint leaves Oil for deep frying To make Falafel Wrap: Tortilla ½ cup tomatoes, diced ½ cup onions, diced ½ cup pickled cucumbers, diced Chipotle ranch Garlic tahini Sriracha red sauce Steps: Take a food processor, add chickpeas, salt, cumin powder, ajwain seeds, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, chilis and cilantro/ mint leaves. Process until fairly smooth or well blended. Transfer batter into bowl. Add baking powder, corn starch, and all-purpose flour and make batter. DO NOT ADD ANY WATER! Grease palms with oil and make falafel (golf size) balls. Drop falafel balls into hot oil carefully and deep fry until golden brown on medium flame. Air fryer method – 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until brown. To make falafel wrap: take tortilla. Spread hummus, add falafel balls, drizzle chipotle ranch, tahini, and red sauce. Top it off with onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers salad and make a wrap. Grill or toast the wrap. Serve with tahini sauce, salad, and falafel balls.
