'Fear, Corruption, Infiltration...': Amit Shah Attacks TMC, Mamata On Her Turf Ahead Of Bengal Polls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a full-scale political offensive against the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress from Kolkata, accusing the state government of turning West Bengal into a land of fear, corruption and unchecked infiltration. With Assembly elections due in April 2026, Shah said the coming months would decide whether Bengal chooses development or continues under what he described as 14 years of misgovernance. Calling infiltration a matter of national security, Shah alleged that the TMC government has abetted illegal immigration from Bangladesh for electoral gains. He claimed border fencing has stalled because the state government has not provided land, worsening insecurity along the international border. Shah said corruption and toll syndicates have crippled development and turned welfare schemes into tools of exploitation.
