Francisco Solis, Dean of Performance Excellence for San Antonio College, talks about how systemic data sharing is needed to identify potential transfer students, track transfer student persistence, and document impact of transfer initiatives on transfer rates and credentials Solis was one of the institutional representatives and practitioners from eight Texas institutions who generously shared their time, insights, and efforts to serve their students with us to inform our brief, “Framing, not Blaming: Improving Latino College Transfer in Texas." "Framing Not Blaming" expands knowledge about Texas Latino students while providing higher education institutions and policymakers with actionable information to serve and graduate more Latino students. The project translates transfer processes and practices at eight Texas institutions, stakeholder perspectives, and emerging research into a set of actionable strategies for policymakers and institutions to consider as they articulate transparent pathways for Latino student success in postsecondary education.
