Hellebores, part of the Ranunculaceae family, amaze us with their blooms at a time when nature seemingly stands still. Among the many varieties of hellebores, the best-known is Helleborus Niger, certainly not for its pure white flower with golden stamens, but rather for the black color of its rhizome, used in ancient times to cure madness. It usually blooms from December to March.
