Seven workers were injured in a chemical plant explosion on Monday in the city of Shaoxing, east China’s Zhejiang province, according to local authorities. The explosion took place at about 09:50 in a nitrification workshop of a chemical plant of the Hongxiang Chemical Co., Ltd., in Shangyu City. It has been confirmed that it was the nigrification reactor that exploded. "we were unloading goods when hearing the explosion following a plume of smoke. All the workers of the chemical plant ran out and the work in the plant stopped," said Mo, witness to the explosion. Local firefighters, police and safety supervision department carried out immediate rescue operation. They sent the seven injured workers to a nearby hospital. None of them has life-threatening danger, according to hospital doctors. The fire was brought under control at around 12:43.
