No Gi BJJ: Rolling Back Attacks (Turtle Mount & Reverse Ride)

In this video, we take a look at two ways to transition to the Truck, exposing the back and opening up submission attacks. This position allows you to attack the Banana Split, the Calf Crusher, and the Twister, as well as exposing the back mount. This movement is standard in some systems (10th Planet and others) and missing from others, but I enjoy playing around with this sort of thing. Give it a whirl and maybe you will enjoy exploring this concept as well. It is important to remember that this is a tight roll (with both techniques). Roll as close to your partner as you can and load the hips strongly. Remember that the contact before both rolls matches laterally, you are connected on the same side as your opponent. Your right leg to their right leg, or left and left. When we roll around our opponent, that connection eventually becomes your bottom back mount hook.
