Flying fox orphans go to crèche [André and Tahani]

Here André and Tahani go off to crèche, along with Aquaman, Ragnarok, Jean Grey and Storm. At crèche they spend a month in a 12m flight aviary, building up flight skills, and socialising with other bats with minimal human contact. The aviary is in the flight path of the adjacent wild colony, and bats from there drop in to investigate the young ones in the cage. After a month the cage will be opened and the orphans will be support fed while they integrate into the wild colony. ___ Any bats shown here in captivity are not pets, but protected wildlife in care under a rehabilitation permit.
