On October 6, 2021 The NCAA's Division 1 Council created an emergency rule that allows teams that lose players through the transfer portal to take as many as 32 new players in the upcoming athletic year. Ketch & Anwar discuss the specifics on the numbers in terms of what Texas currently has on scholarship and what they can hand out in scholarships in terms of high school players and transfers. Ketch says Sark making the comment specific to 33 new players means: "There will 3 more players, come hell or high water, that enter the portal before December 15." Anwar says it's important for Steve Sarkisian to be able to sell fans and the program on the "long term build," but he needs to show some proof of performance into his second year at University of Texas: "Next year from an offensive standpoint, is probably the year when you really want to get things knocked out."
