Why Did Big Smoke Save CJ And Sweet During Reuniting The Families?

Why does Big Smoke rescue CJ and Sweet in Reuniting the Families? Reuniting the Families is a mission in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas where CJ drives Sweet to the Jefferson Motel for a peace meeting between Grove Street Families and the Ballas. Big Smoke and Ryder are already at the motel, acting as if they support the truce. While the meeting is happening inside, the Ballas set up an ambush with gunmen positioned around the building. The Ballas suddenly open fire, killing several gang members and causing chaos at the meeting. Sweet is shot during the attack and CJ rushes inside to help him. Big Smoke arrives with a car and helps CJ get Sweet out of the motel while under heavy gunfire. CJ and Big Smoke then drive Sweet to the hospital while being chased by Ballas and police units. During the escape, Big Smoke shoots at the pursuing enemies while CJ focuses on driving. After losing the attackers, CJ delivers Sweet to the hospital where he is taken inside for treatment. The mission ends with Sweet surviving but Grove Street suffering major losses, which weakens the gang and sets up future events in the story.
