Time Lapse Of Approaching Rains In San Jose, CA (December 16, 2014)

In this short video, it shows a time lapse of rain clouds drifting in from the southwest. A band of moderate rain was on the way and the rain actually had arrived as the video ends...too bad my camera only has like 2 hours worth of battery life when put on idle on time lapse mode. But it was perfect timing. Me and my mom had ran to the bank and did some errands a bit around town and we were caught in the deluge. Good thing there wasn't wind associated with this weather front since if there was wind (especially southerly winds), the rain would blow right on my camera since the camera was situated right in my window upstairs and the roof was only small. But it was indeed worth the risk haha; a great time lapse of the approaching rains! I like how the street light turned on near the end. This band of rain indeed came through around nightfall. (Footage filmed in San Jose, CA on Tuesday, December 16, 2014) Weather scenario: A series of Pacific storm systems were to move inland into the Pacific Northwest and California, keeping much-needed rainfall in the forecast through this week. These systems would be weaker than the major storm last week (Dec. 11), but still potent enough to generate periods of moderate to locally heavy rain. Why the train of storms again? A low pressure trough that is still to our west continued to generate storms and frontal systems and push them through Northern California. This day and Wednesday, we would see more rain. By Thursday, the low would drift east as another storm comes... By Friday, another weak low pressure trough was to move into NorCal with more rain. Then by Saturday, this system would drift east of our area. Looks like by Sunday, a high pressure was to be along the west coast and should hold there for several days, finally giving us a period of dry weather, but let's hope this won't last since we still need more rain!
