LOG Divine Worship Service Christmas Eve Cantata 10PM on 12/24/25

Our Divine Worship Service features a Cantata sung by our Choir: WinGS (Worship in Glorious Song) as they bring us the Christmas message about Jesus birth along with Bible Passages and responsive readings. We open with the Processional Hymn #380 "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". Following Confession and Absolution we responsively read Psalm 98:1-6 encouraging us to praise and thank our God for this new work of Salvation He has begun which was promised of old. Following this we sing #393 "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly". Our Cantata begins with the Old Testament promise of Christ's coming with "O Come, O Come Emmanuel. Then we look at the fulfillment of prophetic Scripture about the location of His birth with "A Place Called Bethlehem" w/ "O Little Town of Bethlehem". We then contemplate the joyous announcement of the angels and the joy Christ's coming brings to our heart with "How Great Our Joy". Then we declare who this human infant is, The Lord God King of Kings with "The Lord is Come" which includes: "Joy to the World / Away in a Manger / and It Came Upon a Midnight Clear". Finally we focus on the glory of God Christ came to bring to this sin darkened world with "The Glory of Christmas" which includes "Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light" / "Good Christians, Come Rejoice" / and "O Come All Ye Faithful". The Offertory is the anthem "Oh How Joyfully" offered by our Hallelujah Ringers. Our Communion Hymns are #377 "On Christmas Night All Christians Sing", "See amid the Winter's Snow", "Gentle Mary Laid Her Child", and "Gentle Mary Laid Her Child". For the Christmas Candle Lighting "O Holy Night" is played in the background as the congregation's candles are lit from the Christ Candle. Then we sing the verses of "Silent Night" interspersed with the Christmas Story from Luke 2:1-20. We close with Hymn #367 "Angels from the Realms of Glory".
