Stones Thrown, Tear Gas Fired as Protesters Clash with Security Forces in Lebanon

Anti-government protesters clashed with soldiers and pro-government protesters in front of a politician’s house in Tripoli, Lebanon, Monday, December 9. Protesters upset with the current political establishment in the country gathered at the home of lawmaker Faisal Karami. The two sides threw stones and bottles at each other while government forces attempted to keep them apart with tear gas. The clashes come as a tentative deal for a new prime minister unraveled, leaving the country without a leader during the worst economic crisis in decades. (REUTERS)
