After slow start to counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces make notable gains against Russia

For months, Ukraine’s military has been grinding through a counteroffensive designed to liberate territory occupied by Russia. Kyiv has admitted that it’s gone slowly, but this week, Ukrainian soldiers made what the U.S. called notable progress.
