VN24 - 31.12.2020 - Bönen / Germany - Hundreds of motorists had probably imagined New Year's Eve 20/21 a little differently. After a serious traffic accident on the A2 freeway near Bönen, they ended up having to spend the New Year in their cars on the freeway. Three people were seriously injured in the traffic accident on New Year's Eve. Apparently, alcohol was involved in the accident, according to the police. For initial findings, a 53-year-old woman was driving her Fiat Doblo in the direction of Hannover at around 10 p.m.. Shortly behind the junction Bönen a 40-year-old man with his Mercedes rearended the Fiat from still unknown reason. The collision caused the car to skid against the right-hand crash barrier. In the accident, the female driver and the male driver suffered serious injuries. Likewise a 31-year-old passenger, who was sitting with in the Fiat. Ambulances took them to nearby hospitals. The 40-year-old Mercedes driver was indicated to have consumed alcohol and medications or drugs. A Doctor took appropriate blood samples from him in the further investigation.
