'Threat of violence' from student leads to lockdowns at two Butler County school districts

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A local middle school student confessed Wednesday to sending a text message that included threats of violence. It caused a lockdown Wednesday at all Middletown schools and two buildings in the Lakota district. Police say the text was received by the Middletown Wellness Center on the high school campus around 7:30 a.m. Officers found the student and the phone from which the text was sent. Charges are expected to be filed.
