L&T designs these vessels in-house, undertaking the complete cycle of basic design to production detailing, at its Design Competency Centre, which is staffed by experienced design specialists and equipped with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure. OPVs are built at L&T's ultra-modern mega shipyard at Kattupalli (on India's east coast near Chennai).
