Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.0 is here! One of the new features is the implementation of NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction, which I tested and compared in various situations in this video. Cyberpunk 2077 looks stunning and serves as a showcase for the capabilities of gaming graphics. At launch, the game wowed players with its visuals (if you had the right hardware), and developers continue to enhance the visual experience. Some time ago, CD Projekt RED introduced Path Tracing to the game, taking graphics to an incredible level. However, a side effect of this was ghosting and artifacts resulting from temporal data collected in denoisers. Additionally, performance in many areas could be drastically lower due to the simultaneous operation of multiple denoisers manually implemented by the developers. Ray Reconstruction in DLSS 3.5 was created to streamline and automate these processes. In my opinion, enabling this technology significantly improves the image - not only by sharpening blurry parts (which I'll address in a moment) but also by providing much better reconstruction of lighting, shadows, and the overall image tone. Thanks to DLSS 3.5, the graphics become more photorealistic and gain additional depth and details. WHAT I DISLIKE, HOWEVER, is the artificiality of the image and its excessive sharpening. Another thing is that I just don't like an over-sharpened image because it's my preference. But the biggest issue with Ray Reconstruction for me is the introduction of artificiality resulting from AI-generated image rendering. If you've ever tried upscaling poor-quality images using AI (with Topaz tools for eg), you probably know what I'm talking about. It's simply evident that the image isn't natural; it contains these drawn, stylized elements, which are especially visible in reflections. 00:00 - In-Motion Shots 00:58 - Vehicles 01:30 - Static Shots (Night) 03:55 - Static Shots (Day) 05:59 - Interior Shots (Afterlife) 07:01 - Characters / Faces ________________________________________ 📷 Check out my other Cyberpunk 2077 videos: • The Beauty of Night City 🖥️ Recorded in 4K with highest possible settings: Ultra - Psycho Graphics preset, DLSS & Path Tracing enabled.
