In today’s hypnosis video, you are going to learn how to manage your stress in a healthier way in order to evolve into a far calmer and far more relaxed person with no more need for clenching or tensing your jaw. Jaw clenching is a fairly common stress response learned by the subconscious mind as a coping mechanism, often beginning in childhood when we are at our most helpless and unable to speak up for ourselves or take action to change situations. Many people have this stress response but those who are most negatively impacted by it are usually those who have lived particularly stressful lives. Clenching your jaw as a stress response can result in migraines, jaw pain, tooth damage, and painful muscle spasms in the neck and shoulders. If left unchecked this stress response can continue to be an issue for decades and cause a host of dental problems and other health issues. Of course, that pain alone can be a significant cause of stress which creates a vicious cycle for TMJD sufferers. Many people who have problems with jaw-clenching aren't aware that they are doing it half of the time - this is because it isn't a conscious response but rather a subconscious one. Just like breathing, we are always doing it but only really aware of it when we are focusing on that action. It is incredibly hard to change a subconscious reaction whilst living in your conscious mind, this is why hypnosis is such a powerful tool for issues like this. In hypnotherapy, a hypnotic trance is induced in order to be able to speak directly to the subject's subconscious mind, in a way that the subconscious mind understands and listens to.
