Buffer and Bias an AC or DC Signal In One Single Step With an Op Amp - Simply Put

You can buffer signals and you can bias signals (adding a specific bias, or removing a bias), but how you do so depends on what type of signal you have and how you're expecting to work with it. If you instead use a weighted summing non-inverting op-amp amplifier to add the signal and bias together, you can process any signal at all (both DC and AC) while also buffering the signal, all of this with only one op-amp and four resistors. Overkill in many situations, but has the benefit of working unchanged with literally any signal that fits within the op-amp's headroom.
