DAYTON -- The family of the man killed by Beavercreek police inside a Walmart store last week will hold a press conference Monday afternoon. Michael L. Wright, attorney for John Crawford III, will hold a press conference at his law office Monday at 1 p.m. Crawford, 22, was killed August 5 inside the Beavercreek Walmart after police responded to reports of a man waving a gun at people, including children. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is handling the investigation. Earlier this week he said Crawford had a Crosman MK-177 Pellet Rifle. It is unclear if Crawford walked into Walmart with it or accessed it inside the store. In a statement, the family said they vehemently disagree that the shooting was justified. "The family is overwhelmed with shock and grief as a result of their loss. Facts have not been fully disclosed," said Wright. The family wants to review the video from inside the store to answer many questions. The statement says the family is aware of some reports that officers were advised that the gun was not real before shots were fired. The two officers involved in the shooting, Officer Sean Williams and Sergeant Dave Darkow, have been put on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
