Houston here. The reality is that banks are tightening up on credit, especially when it comes to business credit funding. So, what should you do? I recommend going after business lines of credit instead of business loans from traditional banks. Traditional banks don't like giving business loans because of the red tape involved. They prefer starting you off with business credit cards to see how you manage them before offering a line of credit. Now, let's talk about the top four business lines of credit you should consider. First, PNC Bank offers business lines of credit ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 with a soft pull and no documentation required. However, be careful with your NAICS codes as high-risk codes can lead to denial. Next, Wells Fargo offers lines of credit up to $150,000 for small businesses. Opening a regular account and making regular deposits can increase your chances of getting a business line of credit. They report to the Small Business Financial Exchange, which is shared with Dun & Bradstreet and Experian. American Express offers business lines of credit through their Kabbage loan program. You need to be making at least $33,000 annually and $3,000 per month. They do a soft pull and may not ask for documentation. Consider pre-qualifying for their business credit cards first. Lastly, PayPal offers a business line of credit without a hard pull. You need to be making at least $42,000 annually. Use a PayPal business account to receive payments and transfer funds to major banks.
