Prime minister Narendra Modi today said changes in labour laws will be attempted through consensus building with labour organisations. Speaking at the inauguration of 46th Indian Labour Conference in New Delhi, Mr Modi expressed confidence that solutions will be found . He said if labourers are unhappy, the country cannot be happy. The Prime minister said government is making efforts to simplify labour laws. He urged everyone to recognise and award innovations done by workers. Mr Modi urged industrialists to hire apprentices. He said unless there is a feeling of togetherness between labourers and industrialists, no enterprise can prosper. The Prime minister said, the government has come up with three important schemes to ensure social security for even the unorganised labour. He said all the labourers medical records will now be available online . Saying that the government is concerned for the poor, the prime minister said, the government has increased minimum pension to one thousand rupees. Expressing concern that a wrong habit which has crept in our society, Mr Modi said we do not respect our labour enough. He said there is a need to respect the Dignity of Labour.
