This is because Pixar was found in 1986 and the short was produced in 1984 by "The Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project". It later became part of Pixar two years later when "LCGP" was renamed to Pixar. 2. The 1989 short "Knick Knack" was made twice. The first time was in 1989, and the second being 2003 for "Finding Nemo". This is because in the original 1989 short the female characters "Sunny Miami" and "Sunny Atlantis" had a big chest which was later removed in 2003 due to it being inappropriate. 3. This DVD was released on the same day "Cars" and "Ratatouille" was released for the first time on "Blu-Ray" on November 6, 2007. 4. In the 1987 short "Red's Dream", the bike shop is called "Eben's Bikes" and is a reference to Eben Ostby who also worked on the short. 5. "Mike's New Car" is known to be Pixar's first short to feature characters from a film and to have dialouge, thus making this short based on "Monsters, Inc." #pixar
