Sri Panakaala Narasimha Swamy located in Mangalgiri is a very old temple with a lot of history behind it, the statue of narasimha swamy is said to be formed on it's own. only the mouth part will be visible, rest is covered with metal face of lord narasimha. Lord narasimha after fighting with rakshasas was yet to get calm. to make him attain shanthi various things were used like milk, ghee in various yugas. currently it is kaliyuga, in which jaggery water is to be served. this is still followed in the temple till now, where the water is being poured into the mouth of narasimha statue and some people claim to hear some sound after pouring in the water. The other beliefs are the whole hill is said to be a volcano which is said to be inactive which is due to the jaggery water which in reaction with the lave made the volcano in active. this place has three narasimha swamy temples, one on the foot hill "Lakshmi Narsimha swamy temple" and in the middle is "Sri Panakaala Narasimha Swamy", "Gandalayam" on the hill top. This temple has proper car parking and some entry fees for vehicles, and is also famous among the tourists.
