On the night of 6 March 2010, a group of students at the Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture (IVSAA) launched an organisation of social outreach they named 'Rahnuma' (Mentor). The purpose of this organisation, according to their official Facebook account, is "to spread the flame of thought and be the change to bring a CHANGE." On this occasion, the students invited Laal band as the musical act of the evening. This first clip is a live rendition of the song Umeed-e-Sahar (The Hope of Dawn). Laal began the night with a song that has become not only their signature song but the eternal refrain of a nation that survives only on hope. A timeless poetic masterpiece of the leftist poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz that was lost to the dusty annals of posterity till rescued by Laal! At the end of the clip, the building seen towering above is the famed Nusserwanjee mansion. Laal Pakistan would like to compliment the Rehnuma group and the students of IVSAA for their energetic and spirited involvement during the entire evening. Send Laal Pakistan your video clips of Laal's live performances and your video might get uploaded onto Laal's official channel. Senders shall be duly credited. -Laal Pakistan, the official YouTube channel of Laal, the people's band.
