Monsoon Havoc in Maharashtra: Heavy Downpour Lashes Mumbai and Pune, IMD Issues Red Alert As the monsoon sets in, Maharashtra has been hit hard by heavy rainfall. Waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and fallen trees have been reported in several places across Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune. This is footage from Maharashtra's Pune district, where a huge tree fell in the Wakdewadi area, damaging multiple vehicles. Trapped occupants were rescued by locals, who complained that although they called emergency services to rescue the stranded people, no help had arrived even after 45 minutes. As rain lashes Mumbai, fallen trees have been reported in several parts of the city, damaging residents' vehicles. A 63-year-old man was killed after a tree came crashing down on him. The incident occurred in the Naupada locality of Kurla West, where Yunus Kundawala sustained critical injuries after being struck by the falling tree. He was extricated from the debris and rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. As rain continues to lash the city, authorities have urged residents to stay indoors unless necessary, warning that more intense spells could trigger widespread waterlogging and further disruptions.
