TylerTristar2IsBack Presents the Opening to Matilda VHS (12-17-96) (USA)

Printed during the 42nd week of 1996. Oft-uploaded opening to the original home video release of comedian Danny DeVito's fifth film in the director's chair (after THE RATINGS GAME, THROW MOMMA FROM THE TRAIN, THE WAR OF THE ROSES and HOFFA) and his first aimed at a family audience. Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, the film tells the story of a young genius (Mara Wilson) posessed with the gift of telekinesis, which she uses to combat her oppressive principal (Pam Ferris) and her shady parents (Mr. Devito and his wife, Rhea Perlman) who do not value education as a top priority. In 1997, this family comedy was one of the first titles to be available on DVD, coming in CD-type packaging. The uploader has been looking for that particular DVD of the film for years.
