BATAVIA Two teens involved in head on crash airlifted

BATAVIA Two teens involved in head on crash airlifted Two teens were airlifted to Buffalo area hospitals after their car collided with a Ford pick up truck on Lovers Lane road in the Town of Batavia about 6:25 Friday evening. Brandon J. Faucett, 17, of Batavia was traveling southbound in a 2002 Honda Accord and lost control of the vehicle at the crest of a hill on Lovers Lane. Faucett told deputies he was going too fast and started breaking aggressively. That is when the car started sliding into the northbound lane and into the path of a pick up truck. The two collided and Faucett's passenger, Bailey Faucett, 13, became trapped in the front passenger side of the vehicle. The Town of Batavia Fire Department extricated her in about 30 minutes. Both Brandon and Bailey were transported to Buffalo area hospitals by Mercy Flight. Brandon suffered a fractured leg and possible internal injuries and went to ECMC. Bailey suffered possible internal injuries and was transported to Women's and Children's Hospital. The driver of the pick-up truck Gloria A. Schafer, 52, of Akron was transported to UMMC in Batavia by private vehicle with minor injuries. According to the Sheriff's Office speed was a factor in the crash and charges are pending.
