Love Halloween and fall in the mountains? Check out the Harvest Festival featuring the Great Pumpkin LumiNights at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. The Harvest Festival features food and fun and is a treat to see during the day and night. Dollywood is open every evening to celebrate the season and it's something that you don't want to miss! 2017 marks the first time that Dollywood is staying open every night during the fall season for their annual Dollywood Harvest Festival. The new addition is the Great Pumpkin Luminights that takes place in Timber Canyon. You can visit the area during the day or see it all aglow once darkness falls. It's two completely different experiences seeing it during the day and night; you definitely need to stick around to see the pumpkins all lit and the spectacular lighting effects. Even the coasters and other attractions are lit just for the Halloween season. There are also special events, like the Pumpkin Boogie Dance Party and the Glow Maze. You can catch some amazing pumpkin carving decorations and character meet and greets! But you're really there to see Dollywood done up in her fall finest with pumpkins and mountain foliage. Dollywood is a spectacular theme park, but really starts to shine in the fall months. The Timber Canyon area, between the entrance and Thunder Head roller coaster (which is even better at night) is the most decorated part of the park. The decorations continue past Drop Line and Mystery Mine through Wild Eagle. The music changes and the area comes to life with glowing decorations. During my visit, they had two separate lanes going through Timber Canyon to help with crowd control. Although you can see everything from both sides, you might want to go through the whole area twice. There are new food offerings, including cider and an incredible pumpkin pie funnel cake. Here's an Insider's tip...when you visit, if the park is open until 10, then visit the Timber Canyon area around 9:15 or so. It will be so much less crowded after about 8:45 and you can spend the time riding roller coasters while everyone else is checking out the Great Pumpkin LumiNights. http://www.imaginerding.com/ Follow me on Twitter: / imaginerding Follow Me on Facebook: / imaginerding
