S. Korea, China FMs discuss THAAD deployment amid tension

한중, 뮌헨서 외교장관 회담…사드갈등 '냉기류' South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has been holding talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi amid bilateral tension over the planned deployment to South Korea of the THAAD missile defense system. Having wrapped up their talks in Munich around an hour ago, the two reportedly exchanged views on Seoul's decision to bring in the U.S. missile defense battery. Since South Korea announced its decision in July, China has been taking apparently retaliatory actions in the trade, travel and entertainment industries to name a few. Minister Yun was expected to have pointed out that Beijing's response was unfair as the THAAD deployment is only aimed at protecting the country from North Korea's continued missile threats.
