He said that the whole country is proud of the armed forces who dedicate their lives to the defence of the country. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Beating Retreat ceremony is a solemn and dignified tradition that brings the Republic Day celebrations to a close. The Minister further stated that the ceremony stands as a symbol of national pride and military heritage against the grandeur of Vijay Chowk. Akashvani correspondent reports that this year’s Beating Retreat ceremony will feature a total of 30 performances, captivating spectators with foot-tapping music by bands from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
