Welcome to another Thriveabetes interview. I am joined by Emma O’Toole and Niamh Downes from the Dublin Adults with Type 1 Diabetes Group which celebrated 10 years of existence in February 2021. Niamh created the Diabetes in Ireland closed Facebook group, creating the Irish Diabetes Online Community #IREDOC, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2008 at age 30 years. Emma was diagnosed in 1988 at age 7 years. Niamh & Emma set up the Dublin Adults with Type 1 Diabetes Group having their first meeting in February 2011. DUBLIN ADULTS WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES GROUP The group is meeting virtually via zoom during the Covid pandemic but hopes to resume face to face meetings at the end of 2021.
