Good Friday Tenebrae Service - FVUMC 2021 - Tenebrae is the Latin word for ‘shadows’ or ‘darkness’. Beginning with all of the candles burning on the altar, this deeply moving worship service uses music and scripture readings from John 18 and 19 to tell the crucifixion story. As passages are read, a candle is extinguished, symbolizing Jesus' journey toward darkness and our wait for the coming resurrection.
