This is a time lapse drawing of a hand wearing “Rakhi” using Graphite and pastel pencils on toned tan drawing paper “Rakhi” is a festival, popular in Northern and Western India - a celebration of the love and bonding of brother and sister. Sister ties a band – the Rakhi – on brother’s hand as a symbol of love and well wishes. Rabindranath Tagore, in the 1900s, in an effort to unify Indians, linked Rakhi not merely to a brother and sister festival, but to entire mankind. He invoked Rakhi to inspire love, respect and solidarity amongst Indians under political anarchy of late British rule. The message is equally relevant in current times. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Thank you for watching and subscribing!!
