Didactic: Resident-Driven Recruitment and Match of Underrepresented Minority Medical Students (RAMS and ADIEM Sponsored) This didactic will start by highlighting the importance of having a diverse residency class and the importance of recruitment in the context of resources to support underrepresented minority (URM) students as well as avoiding tokenism and the minority tax. Presenters will assess the role of a Diversity and Inclusion Committee, highlight the things each program does prior to the interviewing season and during the interview season, and address some special adaptations due to COVID-19. Ultimately through the discussion, presenters hope to come up with a list of transferable best practices that each residency program can adopt for the recruitment of URM medical students. This didactic will be unique in that it is driven by a diverse group of residents from different programs across the country.
