Find the episodes at: • A Visit To Our Inner World (ft. Squidge) ... . Dissociative Identity Disorder often comes with an internal mindspace where alters live and the brain plays in allegories. So, let's show you ours... 'the Inner Worlds' is an experimental project, inviting a visitor into an emulation of the internal mindspace of a brain believed to be multiple; into a world governed by its own psychology, trauma, and imagination, where metaphors define spaces, where allegories hide under in every structure, and where everything's a little bit... dissociated. One of our alters- Mr. Kensington- will play guide, and all other alters will (mostly) be acted by that person. A visitor or two will be brought in to interact with the landscape, and with the residents in their home. As to what happens next? It depends where they go, and how they go about it. --- A reminder: DID is caused by chronic childhood trauma, and although there are some thresholds we aren't comfortable crossing (trauma parts will only be mentioned, and most little ones will not be present), there will be uncomfortable themes within topics of mental illness. All visitors are warned of this pre-session, and inner-system check-ups happen to make sure boundaries aren't crossed. There may also be times you doubt validity due to how "unreal" it all feels; so we ask you keep in mind, that the human brain is a very resourceful thing. Dissociative Identity Disorder- & OSDD1- are heavily stigmatized disorders, from both the public and professionals. Even within its own community, well-accepted symptoms are often dismissed as "fake" or "unreal" with little reason why. Personally we believe it an issue of relatability, so perhaps in this little project of self-expression, we can emulate a bit of the journey for others to experience too. --- Music by Patricia Taxxon ('Head') https://patriciataxxon.bandcamp.com/ (CC BY-SA 3.0 - Cut & Very Mildly Edited) Art in OP: Charlie painted-over by MyEmeraldTears. - / myemeraldtears Vi illustrated by HugADuck - / hugyourducks (who's working on a very good story with a very well-researched DID character in it!)
