Cremà Fallas Infantil de Valencia 2023 / Burning of Kids Effigies / Spain
La Cremà or the Burning of Fallas sculptures (kids category) during the Las Fallas de Valencia 2023 Festival in Spain from 8.00pm to 9.30pm on 19 March, the last day of the festivity. We went to the different streets and at the Ayuntamiento de Valencia Square where some of the biggest sculptures are placed. They burn them except the one voted the best to represent the start of the Fallas year and the renewal of the spirit. Las Fallas is a combination of tradition, satire and art, and is a celebration of the coming of Spring with lots of fallas or caricature pieces put up in different squares that shows different current issues. The Fallas festivities is UNESCOS’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Enjoy!
