Initially went into this fight trying to use the loop evf02d does in their run for phase 3, but then I decided to try and fight Sam more 'normally' there. In the process of doing that, I guess I ended up finding a different AI anomaly. If you stay a certain distance like 90% of the time Sam will do that charge attack with the huge recovery on it, which can be a decent opening if you land all the attacks correctly. I suppose it's effective considering how often Sam jumps away during that phase, and it's probably better than trying to constantly run up to him since that puts you in range of the retarded instant hitbox his rock flinging attack has up-close.
