Srivari Sri Balaji Temple presents Pattana swami's upanyasam on Kulashekara Perumal's Perumal Tirumozhi. Tirunagai Sri. U. Ve. Viraraghavacharya Swami (Pattanna Swami) is a renowned scholar in Srivaishnava Sampradaya and the Vishishtadvaita Siddhanta of Acharya Ramanuja. Born in Tiruvallur in 1938, he was named after Lord Sri Viraraghava. Being born, in an illustrious lineage of scholars and devotees, he had the opportunity of listening to and learning from great scholars of those times right from a tender age of 6 years. Swami, an unassuming scholar, as instructed by his acharyas, started delivering lectures right from his 34th year of age and continues to do so till date. He has delivered 126 Tiruppavai Kalakshepams so far and has been honored with the title "Tiruppavai Shatakratu", "Madhuravagvarshee", “Sri Ramanuja Seva Sri” and many more. Swami always emphasizes that it is time to rejuvenate Acharya Ramanuja's philosophy and inspire the younger generation to imbibe the eternal values of Srivaishnava sampradaya by transcending Kalaa bhedams and refraining ourselves from Bhagavat-Bhagavata apacharams and develop paraspara "Maitree bhava", which is the sign of a true Srivaishnava as propounded by Swami Vedanta Deshika. He established Shree Parashara Gurukulam in 2003 to teach poor and deserving Brahmin students in Vedic and spiritual knowledge while also providing modern education. Students are trained in Rg Veda and Yajurveda, Pancharatra Agama. Students pursuing regular modern education are sponsored until they finish their post graduation. Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha.
